Dear Liberty Families,
As many of you may know, the time for archery has come once again! We are so excited to be able to offer archery as a club sport for the 2017 season and encourage every interested student to apply. This year, because we want to offer the best possible experience, we have limited the space to only 12 students. What this means: students will have more shooting time, more one-on-one instruction with the coaches, students will have more directed instruction based on their skill and style.
As part of the application process, we are asking that students who are interested have two teacher recommendations filled out and that each student writes a short, one-page essay on why they want to be in archery club. Because of the exclusive nature, we ask that any student who applies is willing to commit to the practice hours given and will adhere to all academic standards as set for other sports.
Students must continually show a desire to work hard, achieve academic success, and be responsible on and off the archery range. As a new club we want to provide the best opportunity for club members given the resources that we currently have. Our goal is to build a quality archery program at LCS and look forward to the 2017 season.
Applications (including essay and two teacher recommendations) to be considered for Archery Club must be completed and turned in by 3:00pm, Tuesday, January 31st. Applications after that date/time will not be considered.
Selected students will be informed on Monday, February 6th and must pay a $65.00 Club Membership Fee* (due: Friday, February 10th). (Breakdown of cost: $15.00 State Tournament Fee, $50 Club fee, which covers equipment repairs and replacement costs).
All payments must be given to the office. Checks can be made payable to: LCS with subject line: Archery Club.
*If your child is selected and the fee presents a financial hardship, please contact a coach.
Your Coaches,
Leslie Wolff
